Insight Technical Education, About

Insight Technical Education was started as a brand in 1996. I was drawing some equipment for a sales presentation when I created some trucks, tractors, and other equipment. At the same time, I was in the process of teaching my oldest son how to draw and he just was not interested in the "typical" kind of art. One day, I had an idea about how to teach him to draw using objects he was interested in. Complete-A-Sketch™ and our publishing company was started. Since 1996, our goals have expanded and so has the number of titles that we offer. We plan to continue to offer even more titles and products to better serve your needs.

About Mel:

In addition to being an author, publisher & business owner, I am a mechanical designer. As it has turned out, I have worked in almost every type of commercial environment imaginable from construction to nuclear to high tech to factories that produce food, extrude plastic, and make shoe parts. I have been working since about 1975 in technical fields. As a youth in 1975, I wanted to help my father and I wanted to do the type of work my father did so I started drawing ductwork systems for him. Since then, I have worked as a mechanical, piping, electrical, and architectural drafter, and as a tooling, machinery, and mechanical designer, as well as a product developer for myself and others. I am proficient in manual and computer drafting, design, and CAD customizing.
